founder / annette harcus
Annette Harcus established Harcus Design an eon ago, with the green blitheness of youth in 1982, a couple of years after completing her Visual Communication degree at Sydney College of the Arts (now UTS). Spanning across the disciplines of visual identity, brand collateral and three dimensional work — specifically packaging and large scale environmental graphics nationally and internationally — her work has been consistently recognised, winning national and international awards, and featured in many publications and exhibitions. Fostering strong client relationships with direct designer/ client liaison has resulted in creating mutually beneficial, long-standing business partnerships.
Annette has sat on the advisory boards for Curriculum Revue for the University of Technology Sydney, TAFE, served repeatedly as a judge for various national design awards and is a regular speaker around Australia. An associate of the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA), Annette has an ongoing commitment to the advocation of the benefits of effective design to the business community, and the vital contribution design makes to our contemporary society and environment.
In 2018, Annette was honoured to be inducted into the Australian Graphic Design Association ‘Hall of Fame’. (AGDA)
In 2020, Good Design Australia nominated Annette as a Good Design Ambassador. The Good Design Ambassadors are a select group of individuals within the design community who have made, and continue to make, a positive impact on the design profession both in Australia and internationally.
